Puss in Boots is great for younger kids getting into stories with more text to them. This is 44 pages long and while some pages are full illustration and no text most of the pages have one or two solid paragraphs. The illustrations arent anything special, very medicore but can be called bright and possibly even engaging. The story is about a a family of three sons, each of which inherits something from their father.

The eldest son is left the fathers mill, the middle son a donkey and the youngest son gets his fathers cat.People can imagine the younger sons unhappiness - the older brothers were left things they can make a life with while this son received a cat. This is no ordinary cat though. The reader (or listener) gets to follow Puss as he turns his new owners life around. The things Puss does will bring laughter and in short, its just a fun story. I wouldnt mind giving it an extra star really but it just doesnt deserve it.I can say this, with a great illustrator this would have been so much better.
